Every good story has an interesting plot and characters.

Discussion ideas:

Show the Angry Bird Puzzle #7 pictured below. have students fill in the handout and discuss what the story is in this version of the Angry Birds.

InĀ Angry Birds, the player controls a flock of multi-colored birds that are attempting to retrieve their eggs, which have been stolen by a group of hungry green pigs.

Who are the characters? Describe something about each character.

The angry bird wants to get its eggs back

The hungry green pig has stolen the eggs and is hiding them

 

 

What is the plot?

At each level of the video game the angry bird is try to get to the pigs to get their eggs back.

What are some supporting details?

You don't want to blow up the TNT in this game

You can't get through the obstacles made of stone, wood or glass.

How can the bird get to the pig? This is a chance to talk about relative left and right turns. The bird goes forward twice and then must turn to its RIGHT (your LEFT) because of the way it is facing. Get the students to figure out what the other turn will be. You can act it out using students and chairs and tables.
