The Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) at UMBC is pleased to invite high-achieving high school girls who are interested in pursuing computing and engineering majors to campus for a couple of events this fall.

Join us for the Building Excellence through Scholarships in Technology: An Event For High School Girls Interested in Engineering & Technology (BEST of CWIT for short) on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 3pm-5pm. RSVP Here!

This opportunity includes a chance for students to learn more about the four year scholarships through the CWIT and Cyber Scholars Programs, learn from UMBC faculty about engineering and computing majors, hear from current Scholars about their research and internship experiences, and learn how to be a competitive applicant in the Scholar selection process. During this event, parents/guardians will also hear from Admissions, Financial Aid, the Honors College, a student panel, and more.  High school seniors will be given priority to attend, however if space is available, high school juniors will be contacted on a first come, first served basis.

Please RSVP to this free event here by October 13 to indicate your interest in attending the BEST of CWIT. You will be contacted by email to confirm your registration.  If you have questions, please contact Erica D'Eramo at deramo@umbc.edu.

Opportunity #2:

In addition to bringing high school students to UMBC, we are also interested in visiting students at their schools. If you would like to set up a date and time for students and/or a staff member from the Center for Women in Technology to visit your school to talk with a class, participate in an event, meet with a student organization or other group of students, etc., please contact Cindy Greenwood at cindyg@umbc.edu.

Thank you and best wishes for a great new school year!

Cindy
